Fans Evacuated from Warriors-Pistons Match Amid Alarm and Sound Issues
A chaotic incident unfolded at the Chase Center as fans were ordered to evacuate during a Warriors-Pistons game due to a false fire alarm.
The Golden State Warriors’ 115-110 victory over the Detroit Pistons was briefly interrupted by “a false fire alarm at Chase Center.” Once the situation was resolved, fans were permitted to return to their seats and the game resumed.
Quote: “They had the violinist out there, and I thought it was part of her routine,” said Warriors star Steph Curry, who exceeded 25,000 points during the match. “I thought it was a grand finale and thought, ‘That’s aggressive.’ Then you realize it’s real, and nobody knows what to do. There’s 19,000 people. Where do you go?”
When they returned, play resumed in an unusually quiet arena due to malfunctioning sound systems, creating an odd atmosphere for the game.
The false alarm was quickly followed by a public announcement stating: “Attention: There has been a fire alarm reported in the building. Please proceed to the nearest exit and leave the building. Do not use elevators.” Fans echoed their confusion at the abrupt alarm but rejoiced upon the announcement indicating they could return.
