Delay for UEFA Champions League Matches Due to Daylight Savings

The UEFA Champions League games will experience a later kick-off time in the U.S. due to the onset of daylight savings time.

With the UEFA Champions League returning this week for the second leg of the round of 16 matches, U.S. audiences will notice a change in the start times due to daylight savings time.

Kickoff Time Impact

As of March 9, the U.S. switched to daylight savings time, causing all matches to start an hour later for fans in North America. Unlike the U.S., Europe will not shift its clocks for another few weeks, with daylight savings starting at the end of March. This timing discrepancy means U.S. viewers will watch matches one hour later than they did previously.

Affected Matches

Only the second leg of the round of 16 will be affected by this time shift. The matches will resume on April 8 for the quarterfinals, at which point kickoffs will sync back up as European countries change their clocks.
