Dallas Cowboys Sign Former Saints Defensive Star Payton Turner to Enhance Roster

The Dallas Cowboys have agreed to a deal with Pass Rusher Payton Turner, looking to boost their defensive lineup as the NFL free agency unfolds.

The Dallas Cowboys have signed former New Orleans Saints pass rusher Payton Turner on a one-year, $3 million deal with $2 million guaranteed.

Selected as the No. 28 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft from the University of Houston, Turner has had a tumultuous career marred by injuries. In his last season with the Saints, he participated in 16 games, contributing 21 combined tackles and two sacks.

It’s a low-cost acquisition for the Cowboys, who are banking on his potential to contribute more effectively with sustained playtime following a frustrating start to his professional career. Can he leverage his talents to secure a pivotal role in the Cowboys’ defense?
