The US men’s national team roster is set for the Concacaf Nations League finals. The USMNT will kick off on March 20 against Panama at SoFi Stadium, aiming for the first trophy of the Mauricio Pochettino era. Due to injuries to Folarin Balogun and Ricardo Pepi, and Serginio Dest not being ready for this roster, the USMNT’s depth will be put to the test, although Pochettino still has a solid starting XI.
Antonee Robinson, Christian Pulisic, and Josh Sargent are expected to be key players based on their current strong performances, while the impact of the January camp is evident with six players from that camp involved in this roster, including Diego Luna, Brian White, and Patrick Agyemang.
Pochettino emphasized their strong potential despite playing time issues, with a focus on maximizing talent for the competition ahead. The coach expressed confidence that Reyna, despite limited recent appearances, possesses the ability to make a substantial impact.
“We decide to call him because it’s the only opportunity we have now. He won’t be available in the future due to the Club World Cup,” Pochettino remarked regarding Reyna’s inclusion.
“He’s deserved to be here. He’s improving, but can still do better. We want to win this competition and think he can help.”
The depth issue remains a point of concern with decisions on player selection proving crucial for Pochettino as he prepares the team for future challenges.
