2025 March Madness: Conference Tournament Results and Automatic Bids

A thrilling day of college basketball as teams earn automatic NCAA Tournament bids.

NCAA Tournament Automatic Bids Secured

Four automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament were gained Tuesday, with championship week in college basketball intensifying. Among the teams getting in was Saint Francis, marking its first trip since 1991. The Red Flash upset Central Connecticut State (46-43) in the NEC title match, halting CCSU’s 14-game winning streak.

Robert Morris, the top seed in the Horizon League, achieved its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2015, prevailing over Youngstown State 89-78.

In the CAA final, UNCW defeated Delaware 76-72, securing its NCAA Tournament invite for the first time since 2017.

Gonzaga clinched its spot with a commanding 58-51 triumph over Saint Mary’s in the WCC title game. After a 33-33 tie early in the second half, Gonzaga surged ahead decisively.

As championship games continue on Wednesday, more teams will finalize their NCAA Tournament fates, with highlights in the Big Sky, Patriot League, and Southland Conference.
