Paris Saint-Germain completed a statement-making showing in the Champions League round of 16 on Tuesday, ousting league phase winners Liverpool in a penalty shootout after outshooting the Reds 27 to 3 last week. PSG leveled the aggregate score just 12 minutes in thanks to the in-form Ousmane Dembele.
The French champions set up an incredibly competitive match at Anfield on Tuesday, with both teams taking around 20 shots. Lionel Messi and Neymar provided crucial passes as PSG quickly turned the tide on Liverpool.
Liverpool will face more tests ahead but PSG’s triumph solidifies their position as serious contenders for the title.
