A day after becoming a free agent for the first time in his NFL career, Aaron Rodgers is still without a team for the 2025 season. It’s not for a lack of headlines. Amid reports and rumors regarding the Pittsburgh Steelers focusing on the former New York Jets signal-caller, the New York Giants have made Rodgers his largest contract offer to date, according to Dianna Russini from The Athletic.
Both the Giants and Steelers have discussed potential deal parameters with Rodgers’ representation, with the quarterback’s agent indicating he intends to make a decision soon. Some insiders have hinted it’s likely the Steelers, yet official communications suggest otherwise.
The Giants have extended a lucrative offer but may not be overly eager to secure Rodgers, eyeing also a quarterback early in the NFL Draft. Similarly, the Minnesota Vikings have held discussions about pursuing Rodgers, despite plans to transition to J.J. McCarthy as a successor to Sam Darnold. Despite these discussions, the Vikings have not shown serious interest in committing significant funds to Rodgers with McCarthy already in the fold.
Executives from all three teams – the Giants, Steelers, and Vikings – believe Rodgers can still compete at a high level despite a subpar run with the Jets.
