Chicago Bulls Championship Banners Removed After Damage from Concert

The Chicago Bulls' title banners have been taken down after suffering damage during a recent concert due to extreme heat from pyrotechnics.

The rafters inside the United Center will look more barren than usual for the remainder of the Chicago Bulls’ 2024-25 season. All six Bulls championship banners were damaged during a Disturbed concert due to extreme heat from pyrotechnics. United Center staff discovered the damage and removed them from the rafters, but they are expected to return by next season.

Other banners for division and conference titles remained unharmed, and the Chicago Blackhawks championship banners also escaped damage.

The Bulls secured those six banners in the 1990s, with Michael Jordan leading the team to three consecutive championships from 1991-1993, followed by another three from 1996-1998. Since then, they haven’t returned to the NBA Finals.

Despite the ongoing repairs to the banners, it appears unlikely that the Bulls will add new ones in the near future, as they currently sit in tenth place in the Eastern Conference, facing a significant challenge to even reach the playoffs.
