Championship Clash: Ohio State to Face Notre Dame in Atlanta

Ohio State and Notre Dame will compete for the College Football Playoff National Championship in Atlanta.

The matchup for the 2025 College Football Playoff National Championship is set as Ohio State and Notre Dame will meet in Atlanta for the sport’s most prestigious prize. This will be Notre Dame’s first chance at a national championship since 2012, while the Buckeyes return to the national title game for the second time under coach Ryan Day.

Ohio State has been dominant throughout the playoffs, winning decisively in their first two games. They went on to face Texas in the Cotton Bowl, where late-game heroics from defensive lineman Jack Sawyer sealed a narrow victory for the Buckeyes.

Conversely, Notre Dame has shown resilience, topping Indiana and Georgia in previous matchups. They faced a tougher challenge against Penn State in the Orange Bowl but pulled off a dramatic win, thanks to an interception by Christian Gray and a game-winning field goal by Mitch Jeter.

CBS Sports will provide live coverage of the championship game. Follow along for score updates, analysis, and highlights.
