CBS Sports’ Matt Norlander remarked on its shocking omission, emphasizing that it prioritizes team qualifications over individual player statuses. Notably, DeVries’ recent shoulder injury raised concerns, yet the Mountaineers achieved a victory record beyond many participating teams.
