Georgia wide receiver Nitro Tuggle was arrested on charges of reckless driving and speeding on Thursday morning according to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department’s online records. Tuggle was released shortly after midnight on a $26 bond and has been suspended from team activities as a result.
Tuggle is among several personnel attached to the Georgia football program facing scrutiny for driving offenses. Since January 2023, there have been over 20 related arrests, including a tragic incident in January 2023 that claimed the lives of Georgia football staffer Chandler LeCroy and offensive lineman Devin Willock.
Driving-Related Incidents Involving Georgia Football Since January 2023
- January 2023: Tragic car accident kills LeCroy and Willock, injures others.
- February 2023: Linebacker Jamon Dumas-Johnson arrested for speeding post-game.
- Continuous incidents: Other players and staff have also been involved in various traffic violations, creating a worrying pattern.
Tuggle, being a rising sophomore who played eight games in the previous season, adds his name to this unsettling list, following the likes of former running back Trevor Etienne Jr., who was previously arrested for similar charges.
