Boxing Icon George Foreman Passes Away at 76

The legendary boxer George Foreman, known for his remarkable career and entrepreneurial success, has died at the age of 76.

Bigger than life in more ways than one, George Foreman captivated the hearts and minds of sports fans and found a place on the kitchen counter of many American homes. A two-time heavyweight champion, entrepreneur, author, and minister, Foreman died Friday at age 76, according to his family and publicist.

“Our hearts are broken. With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved George Edward Foreman Sr. who peacefully departed on March 21, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.” - George Foreman’s family announcement on Instagram.

Foreman famously named all of his boys George Edward Foreman so ’they would always have something in common.’ A celebrated figure in boxing, his legacy includes winning the heavyweight gold medal at the 1968 Olympics, battling in the ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ against Muhammad Ali, and later becoming a household name with the George Foreman Grill.
