Draft Prospects for the New York Giants
The New York Giants faced a challenging situation in the lead-up to the 2025 NFL Draft. After a surprising victory in Week 17, their chances of securing the No. 1 overall pick diminished.
The team now holds the No. 3 pick, trailing other teams with a need for a quarterback, notably the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns. The Titans are strongly expected to choose Miami’s quarterback, Cam Ward, as their No. 1 pick.
1. Trade Up for Cam Ward
As draft day approaches, the Titans may want to move off the No. 1 pick, and the Giants could capitalize on this opportunity if they believe Ward is their future franchise quarterback. However, this route would cost substantial draft capital, potentially more than what the Carolina Panthers gave when they traded to acquire the No. 1 pick in 2023, which included a wide receiver, D.J. Moore.
2. Select QB Shedeur Sanders
The Giants could opt for Shedeur Sanders as their star quarterback prospect. Named the 2024 Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, Sanders offers excellent passing accuracy.
3. Draft Edge Abdul Carter
While a pass rusher isn’t a pressing need, Carter is touted as the best player in the draft and could provide tremendous value.
4. Choose CB/WR Travis Hunter
Travis Hunter is an outstanding candidate as the No. 1 player in the draft class. His dual-threat potential as both a wide receiver and cornerback makes him a multifaceted asset for the Giants.
The above ranks encapsulate the myriad of possibilities the Giants may explore during the upcoming draft.
