
Bayern Munich announced on Wednesday that Alphonso Davies has been diagnosed with a torn ACL in his right knee following international duty with Canada. In addition, Dayot Upamecano will be out for several weeks due to loose bodies in his left knee.
Davies will undergo surgery and is expected to miss the remainder of the 2024-25 season, coinciding with crucial matchups in the UEFA Champions League. Bayern are set to face Inter in the quarterfinals, starting with the first leg on April 8. Meanwhile, Upamecano will also miss these critical matches but is anticipated to return before the season concludes.
This injury comes as a major setback for Bayern Munich, currently leading the Bundesliga by a six-point margin.

Davies’ Timeline: Initially, reports suggested his injury wasn’t serious. However, after further examinations, it has been confirmed that he will miss at least six months.
Davies had started two matches in the CONCACAF Nations League against Mexico and the U.S., but had to leave the field after just 12 minutes in the game against the U.S. due to the injury.
