Wilson Plans to Lead Giants as QB1
When the New York Giants agreed to sign veteran quarterback Jameis Winston on a two-year deal, many assumed that he would take on a significant starting role. However, the signing of Russell Wilson has shifted the expectation, as he has declared his intent to lead the team as their starting quarterback. Wilson expressed confidence at his introduction as the starter.
“I expect to be the starter and come in here and be ready to rock and roll every day,” said Wilson. Translation: “I want to lead this team and contribute to building a winning culture.”
In 2024, Wilson played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he started strongly but struggled towards the end of the season. The Giants are looking to rebound from their challenging past season and are hoping that Wilson can bring the leadership and talent necessary to improve their record.
