Heat Extend Jimmy Butler's Suspension for Missing Flight
The Miami Heat have decided to suspend Jimmy Butler for an additional two games after he missed a team flight, making it his second suspension this season.
The Miami Heat have suspended Jimmy Butler for two games due to missing a team flight on Wednesday.
Butler had planned to join the team in Milwaukee, where they are set to face the Bucks, but was instructed to remain at home during the Heat’s two-game road trip. This marks Butler’s second suspension this season; he was previously sidelined for seven games in January.
Despite his struggles post-suspension, scoring only 39 points in three games since returning, Butler has expressed a desire to leave Miami. The Heat are reportedly looking to trade him before the deadline on February 6.
Currently, Butler is averaging 17 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.8 assists over the course of 25 games this season. The Heat sit at ninth place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 21-21.
