LaMelo Ball to Undergo Surgery, Ending His Season

LaMelo Ball faces surgery for ankle and wrist injuries, ruling him out for the rest of the season.

Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball will undergo arthroscopic surgery to treat a right ankle impingement and will miss the remainder of the 2024-25 NBA season, confirmed by the team on Friday.

Additionally, Ball will also have a minor procedure on his right wrist. This season, he played in 47 games, averaging 28.3 points, 8.3 assists, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game.

Ball was selected as the No. 3 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. Currently, the Hornets hold the 14th position in the Eastern Conference with a record of 18-54 and have the third-best odds for the upcoming NBA Draft Lottery.
