Trinity Rodman Addresses Ongoing Back Issues: 'My Back May Never Fully Heal'

The USWNT star spoke about her chronic back pain following a recent match, revealing the challenges it poses for her athletic career.

USWNT star Trinity Rodman has opened up about her chronic back issues, revealing that she does not expect to fully heal. In a recent statement, she emphasized the ongoing challenges she faces in her athletic career due to these injuries, stating:

“Honestly, I don’t think my back will ever be 100 percent. It’s not one specific thing, it’s just the way that my back is structured. And it’s more so management than like a curable fix.”

Rodman has missed considerable playing time in the past but is focused on her contribution to the USWNT moving forward. As they prepare for upcoming matches against Brazil, she acknowledges the mental hurdles she must overcome due to her injury:

“It’s tough for me, coming off of such a good season and the Olympics and then going into an injury… I can’t be the Trinity that I was at the Olympics now coming back from injury.”

Rodman’s return to international play marks her first call-up since the Olympics, with head coach Emma Hayes ensuring she receives the necessary support in managing her condition.

“We’re delighted she’s back with us,” Hayes noted, emphasizing the need to be cautious with Rodman’s reintegration into the team.
