Five Players Suspended Following Pistons and Timberwolves Brawl

Detractors from both teams face penalties after a recent altercation during an NBA game.

Detroit Pistons player Isaiah Stewart has been handed a two-game suspension, while four more players from the Pistons and Minnesota Timberwolves will miss one game each due to their involvement in a recent altercation during a game, the NBA announced.

Stewart’s suspension was imposed due to his history of unsportsmanlike conduct, the league noted.

The other players receiving one-game suspensions include Detroit’s Ron Holland II and Marcus Sasser, as well as Minnesota’s Naz Reid and Donte DiVincenzo. All five players were ejected during the game on Sunday, alongside Detroit coach J.B. Bickerstaff and Minnesota’s assistant Pablo Prigioni.

“Obviously things went too far,” Bickerstaff said post-game. “But what you see is players looking out for each other. Those are non-negotiables in our locker room.”

The incident unfolded when Holland fouled Reid, which led to a physical confrontation and escalating tensions on the court.
