In a surprising decision, the Houston Texans have parted ways with team president Greg Grissom, as announced on Thursday. This move comes despite the fact that the Texans secured their second successive AFC South division title in 2024 and achieved playoff victories in back-to-back years.
“We want to thank Greg for his contributions to the organization,” said Texans CEO Cal McNair in an official statement. “Since becoming team president in 2021, Greg helped implement numerous initiatives that have driven our organization to evolve and grow significantly. We wish him and his family nothing but the best.”
Grissom was responsible for overseeing business operations for the franchise, having dedicated nearly 25 years to the Texans, including the last four as president. He expressed that he felt it was the right time to embrace new challenges.
He stated, “Over the past four years, I am incredibly proud of what we accomplished for our fans and in our business, and I look forward to what lies ahead.”
Following this considerable progress, the Texans will be vigilant in finding a successor as free agency approaches in less than two months.
