While at Notre Dame, he started during the 2022 season where he famously led the Fighting Irish to a notable victory against South Carolina in the Gator Bowl, showcasing his potential as a reliable starting quarterback.

With two years of eligibility remaining due to various circumstances, including a medical redshirt, Pyne seeks to revamp his collegiate career at Bowling Green, following in the footsteps of another former Missouri quarterback, Connor Bazelak, who previously held the starter position there.
