In October, Detroit Lions star Aidan Hutchinson suffered a serious season-ending leg injury. But just six months after fracturing his tibia and fibula, the edge rusher is back on the field. Hutchinson shared a video of himself sprinting at the Lions’ practice facility, and fans will be excited to see it.
Here’s a glimpse of Hutchinson back on the field, with the 24-year-old sporting a brace on his injured left leg:

Earlier this month, Lions general manager Brad Holmes expressed optimism about Hutchinson’s recovery. “I’ve seen enough movement and mobility running at this stage that I am confident about where he’s going to be at,” Holmes said.
During the NFL Scouting Combine, defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard also spoke positively about Hutchinson’s return to health, stating: “I have full confidence he will be back to health. Hutch is a dynamic player.”
The injury occurred during a 47-9 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, when Hutchinson fell after sacking Dak Prescott. After the injury, head coach Dan Campbell clarified that Hutchinson would be sidelined for four to six months, aligning with his projected recovery timeline. Based on the video posted by Hutchinson, it appears he could be ready for training camp in July.
As a crucial player for the Lions, Hutchinson’s absence was significant. He led the league before his injury with 6.5 sacks, 14 quarterback hits, and 40 pressures, finishing the season with 7.5 sacks in just five games. Hutchinson, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft from Michigan, is entering his fourth year in the league and has begun preparing for the upcoming season.
