
Two Division III Baseball Teams End Long Losing Streaks with Split Doubleheader
Lehman College and Yeshiva University break their 141-game losing streak by drawing in a doubleheader matchup.
In a duel marking both teams’ struggles, Lehman College and Yeshiva University, burdened by a combined 141-game losing streak, met in a doubleheader.
The day kicked off with Lehman College breaking a 42-game losing streak, edging Yeshiva University 7-6 in a tightly contested extra inning match, boosting their season record to 1-14.
In the second game, Yeshiva University turned the tide, overcoming their own 100-game losing streak by winning 9-5 against Lehman. This victory uplifted their season to 1-19. This marked Yeshiva’s first win since February 27, 2022, when they last defeated John Jay. Similarly, Lehman’s previous win dated back to May 9, 2023, against Baruch College.
Chamorro showcased exceptional skills, tallying 13 strikeouts in the opener, declaring ending the losing streak an essential boost for the team. He expressed, “I felt a tremendous relief after everything ended. It’s what we needed for our morale.”
Conversely, in the second match, Yeshiva’s Arnow stood out with a remarkable performance, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs, sharing, “It was a big weight off our chest. The losing streak has been ongoing for nearly two years, and this feels amazing.”
