In an emotional scene, Luka Doncic returned to Dallas for his first game since being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers for a deal that featured Anthony Davis in February. Before the game, the Dallas Mavericks honored Doncic with a tribute video highlighting his accomplishments, which brought him to tears.

Fans at the American Airlines Center gave Doncic a standing ovation as he was introduced in the Lakers’ starting five. During his time with the Mavericks, Doncic averaged 28.6 points, 8.6 rebounds, 8.2 assists, and 2.1 steals per game over seven seasons, leading the team to the Western Conference Finals in 2024.
