Travis Hunter Discusses the Challenges of Two-Way Play in NFL

Rising star Travis Hunter shares his thoughts on playing both offense and defense in the NFL, emphasizing the importance of his physical condition.

Travis Hunter is aiming to maintain his versatility as a two-way player in the NFL, having demonstrated his abilities at both cornerback and wide receiver through his college career at both Jackson State and Colorado. He stated, “To be honest, I think I just need to see if my body will allow me to take all of this and continue to take all this.” His commitment to treatment and physical fitness is evident as he navigates the challenges of such a demanding role.

Hunter expressed that NFL teams share his concerns about his capacity to manage dual positions. “They want to see how much I can handle, and it’s up to me at this point,” he remarked. This puts the onus on him to prove his durability and versatility at the professional level.

Notably, Hunter’s stats speak to his talent, having achieved 96 receptions for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns in the previous season. He demonstrated formidable defensive skills too, making 47 tackles and securing 7 interceptions over his college tenure.

Whichever NFL team picks him will be taking a calculated risk, as Hunter’s unique skill set presents both a remarkable opportunity and a potential obstacle, depending on how well he can manage the physical demands of playing both ways.
