Mohamed Salah Signs New Two-Year Contract with Liverpool; Tottenham and Manchester United Face Europa Challenges
Mohamed Salah has officially renewed his contract with Liverpool amidst their series of successes and the struggles of Tottenham and Manchester United in the Europa League.
It’s finally confirmed! Liverpool fans were greeted with thrilling news as Liverpool announced that Mo Salah has signed a new contract with the club. While Salah’s previous deal was to expire in summer 2025, there have been recent negotiations leading to this new agreement. Additionally, Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk is also expected to sign a fresh deal soon.
Salah: “Of course I’m very excited. We have a great team now. Before also we had a great team. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football…”
Salah, who ranks third in Liverpool’s all-time top scorers with 243 goals in 394 appearances, has secured several awards throughout his tenure, including multiple Premier League Golden Boots and PFA Player of the Year titles. With Liverpool, Salah has won seven trophies since joining from AS Roma in the summer of 2017 for approximately $40 million.
In Europa League news, Manchester United and Tottenham both faced a disappointing night as they drew their respective matches, complicating their chances of advancement.
Manchester United conceded an early goal but managed to equalize, while Tottenham also struggled at home, needing to triumph in their next leg to keep their tournament hopes alive. Managers Ruben Amorim and Ange Postecoglou will need to improve their squads as they head into the next fixtures.
