Titans' L'Jarius Sneed Faces Lawsuit for Alleged Involvement in Shooting Incident

L'Jarius Sneed is being sued after an alleged shooting incident at a Texas car dealership, entangled with claims of threats made against the individual involved.

Tennessee Titans cornerback L’Jarius Sneed is facing a lawsuit for at least $1 million in connection with a shooting that occurred on December 6 in Carrollton, Texas, as reported by The Associated Press. A claim has been made against Sneed, asserting he or his assistant shot at an individual while the latter was on a dealership lot.

The police report concerning the incident is largely redacted, but it notes that the plaintiff was inside a vehicle when shots were fired from a Lamborghini Urus that passed by One Legacy Motors. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. Attorney Levi McCathern has stated that both Sneed and another suspect have been arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

“The proof is there,” McCathern stated. “Surveillance video shows the car and the person who fired shots at Christian. We need to understand the motives behind this event. We’re grateful that no one was hurt, but we continue to seek clarity on why it occurred.”

The civil suit was presented last month in Dallas County against Sneed and an unidentified co-defendant for an alleged ‘unprovoked attack in broad daylight.’ A photograph from the surveillance footage allegedly depicting an arm extending from a car holding a firearm has been included in the lawsuit.

McCathern further claims that Sneed and a woman, identified as his mother, contacted the plaintiff to dissuade him from cooperating with law enforcement or pursuing legal action.

A representative from the Titans told the AP that they are aware of the situation and are in contact with NFL Security in accordance with league protocols. McCathern expressed that they reached out to the Titans regarding the matter but received no reply.

“It’s evident that the Titans manage their players both on and off the field the same way. It’s not surprising they were the least successful team in the NFL last year,” McCathern concluded.

Sneed, a two-time Super Bowl champion with the Kansas City Chiefs, joined the Titans last offseason, inking a four-year deal worth $76.4 million. He participated in just five games last season before being sidelined due to a quadriceps injury.
