Last April, former NFL cornerback Vontae Davis was found unresponsive in his Florida home and passed away at the age of 35. The Broward County Medical Examiner has now concluded that both the cause and manner of Davis’ death are undetermined.
This outcome does not provide the closure that many hoped for regarding Davis’ tragic passing. His brother, former tight end Vernon Davis, mentioned in an interview that Vontae seemed to collapse or slip after exiting a sauna and had no history of drug use.
In his 10-season career, Vontae played for the Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, and Buffalo Bills, famously retiring at halftime of a game in 2018. During his career, he was honored with two Pro Bowl selections and recorded 22 interceptions.
