This victory comes on the heels of Ennis’ previous fight which was criticized for a lackluster performance against Karen Chukhadzhian. However, against Stanionis, Ennis proclaimed he could use his strengths due to having a willing opponent.

Ennis remarked:
“The biggest part was just being myself and having a live body in front of me. When I have a live body in front of me, you see what happens.”
Ennis’ future remains uncertain as he considers whether to pursue undisputed status in the welterweight division or move up in weight class for larger bouts.
