Kyren Lacy, who led LSU in receiving touchdowns in 2024, has died at the age of 24. He was previously charged in a tragic incident.
Former LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy has passed away at 24, an LSU official confirmed to CBS Sports. The cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
Lacy previously played for Louisiana-Lafayette before transferring to LSU, where he was the leading receiver in 2024. Over his career, he achieved 162 receptions for 2,360 yards and 26 touchdowns.
A spokesperson for LSU expressed, “We’re saddened to learn of the tragic passing of former LSU Football student-athlete Kyren Lacy. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones, as well as his former teammates and coaches impacted by this loss.”
Once seen as a potential NFL draft pick, Lacy was charged in January with negligent homicide, following a December 17 accident that claimed the life of a 78-year-old man and injured others. The police report detailed how Lacy was involved in a crash wherein he fled the scene without helping or contacting emergency services.
