Suns Are Considering Trading Kevin Durant This Offseason

Reports indicate that the Phoenix Suns are looking into potential trades for Kevin Durant after a disappointing season.

The Phoenix Suns are reportedly set to look for a new team for 15-time All-Star Kevin Durant this offseason, following their unsuccessful season where they finished with a 36-46 record, missing the playoffs as the 11th seed. The Suns plan to “engage in trade conversations” regarding Durant during the summer, as various teams are anticipated to show interest.

Durant, 36, is entering the final year of a four-year, $194.2 million contract extension with the Brooklyn Nets that he signed in 2022. The Suns brought him on board from the Nets at the 2023 trade deadline, trading a package that involved Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, plus four unprotected future first-round picks.

Last season, Durant achieved an average of 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.2 blocks in 62 games with the Suns.

The team will also hold talks regarding the future of Bradley Beal in the summer, as they recently made the decision to dismiss their head coach, Mike Budenholzer, after just one season.
