If Aaron Rodgers opts to continue his career in 2025, it’s not just his uniform that will change. He also needs a new helmet after the NFL banned his current model, the Schutt Air XP Pro Q11 LTD, as part of ongoing safety evaluations aimed at reducing player concussions.
In pursuit of safety, the NFL has seen a 17% reduction in concussions for 2024 compared to 2023, and updates to helmet technology are paramount.
“It’s not difficult at all,” Rodgers mentioned previously about adapting to new helmets. Having worn similar models for years, he had already transitioned to a safer option back in 2019 after experiencing concussions.
In addition to these changes, Rodgers faces uncertainty about his team for the upcoming season. Currently, the Pittsburgh Steelers appear to be in the lead to acquire him while the New Orleans Saints are also considered a viable option due to potential injury concerns with Derek Carr.
Still, the 41-year-old Rodgers might choose retirement, although most expect he intends to play one last time in 2025.
