Giants GM Discusses Travis Hunter and Top Quarterbacks Ahead of 2025 NFL Draft

As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, New York Giants GM Joe Schoen discusses potential strategies regarding their No. 3 pick, including Travis Hunter's role and quarterback options.

The 2025 NFL Draft is a pivotal event for the New York Giants, who own the No. 3 overall pick. The organization’s decision-making revolves around whether to select a quarterback or utilize the pick for receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter, a star and Heisman Trophy winner from Colorado.

Since the retirement of Eli Manning in 2019, the quarterback position has been a challenge for the Giants. After parting ways with quarterback Daniel Jones last season, they signed veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston for this offseason. Though the Giants will evaluate potential quarterback prospects such as Shedeur Sanders and Jalen Milroe before the draft, GM Joe Schoen emphasized that they feel secure at the position and have flexibility regarding their 3rd pick.

He stated, “With the signing of those two players, we put ourselves in a position where I don’t think that’s mandatory.”

The intrigue only deepens about the Giants’ final decision at the draft, particularly with the potential that they might secure a top quarterback while simultaneously selecting Hunter. “I think he’ll be able to do both,” Schoen remarked concerning Hunter’s prospective role on the field.

As the draft approaches on April 24, the Giants’ choices are under much scrutiny, but it’s clear they are in a favorable position to make a significant impact either way.
