Wesley Bryan recently participated in LIV Golf’s “The Duels: Miami” and emerged victorious alongside Sergio Garcia. However, his triumph has led to an unexpected penalty: a suspension from competing in the PGA Tour. Bryan confirmed this news during an interview with Monday Q and has also entered the appeal process regarding the suspension.
The LIV Golf competition saw nine influencers battling for a substantial purse of $250,000. Although Bryan is the only participant facing repercussions due to his established ties with the PGA Tour, he expressed no bitterness toward the Tour, stating, “For the last eight or nine years, the opportunities have been amazing. I’m extremely grateful to the Tour for that…”
Despite the situation, Bryan believes that participating in the LIV event was worthwhile, noting, “that video is one of the most powerful videos in YouTube golf.”
With a history of 134 appearances on the PGA Tour, Bryan has indicated he does not wish for this suspension to be the end of his professional journey. According to reports, typical suspensions for Tour players linked with LIV events can extend up to one year, leaving his return to the circuit uncertain.
Quotes during the interview indicate his optimism and resilience: “I don’t want this to be the end of my professional golf career.”
