Injury Update on Ja Morant: Grizzlies Star Misses Practice, Game-Time Decision Against Mavericks
Ja Morant's status for the upcoming Play-In Tournament game remains uncertain after missing practice due to an ankle injury.
Ja Morant, the star of the Memphis Grizzlies, sat out practice on Thursday due to an ankle injury and his availability for the Play-In Tournament game against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday remains uncertain. Interim head coach Tomas Iisalo informed the media that Morant will be a game-time decision.
“My feel with him is he’ll do absolutely everything in order to play,” said Iisalo. Translation: I think he will try his best to play.
During a recent game against the Golden State Warriors, Morant rolled his ankle after landing on Buddy Hield’s foot while attempting a shot.
Despite the setback, Morant expressed confidence about his status for the upcoming match, stating, “I’m playing. That’s basically the answer I’m giving,” reinforcing his determination to compete.
It’s imperative that the Grizzlies secure a victory to keep their postseason hopes alive. The matchup against the Mavericks represents a critical opportunity, as the winner will clinch the No. 8 seed for the playoffs.
