Hailey Van Lith's Dream of Joining the WNBA Comes to Life in Chicago

Hailey Van Lith realizes her aspiration to play for the Chicago Sky, joining former LSU teammate Angel Reese.

Hailey Van Lith will start her WNBA career with the Chicago Sky, a dream she’s had since draft night. She expressed her desire to join the Sky during a press briefing, stating, “Deep in my heart, I wanted to come to the Sky.” 

Hailey Van Lith on hoping to join the Sky:
“I felt a ton of alignment and I felt like they saw who I was as a player. And I felt valued, so I was hoping that I was available when Chicago’s picks came.”

Van Lith had an impressive college career across multiple institutions, including Louisville, LSU, and TCU, making history as the first player to advance to the Elite Eight with three different universities. She was picked No. 11 by the Sky and will reunite with her former LSU teammate, Angel Reese. Reese shared her excitement for their collaboration on social media, saying, “We ain’t do it right the first time. Let’s run it backkkkk.”

The Sky kicks off the 2025 WNBA season against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on May 17.
