Knicks Secure Dramatic Comeback Win Against Pistons in Playoff Opener

The New York Knicks rallied from behind to defeat the Detroit Pistons with a stunning fourth-quarter performance in Game 1 of their playoff series.

In an exhilarating playoff opener, the New York Knicks staged a remarkable comeback against the Detroit Pistons on Saturday night, securing a 123-112 victory in Game 1 of their first-round series.

Jalen Brunson led the charge with 34 points, while Cameron Payne contributed significantly with 11 of his 14 points coming in the pivotal fourth quarter. The Knicks unleashed a phenomenal 21-0 run that turned the tide, stunning the Pistons and their fans at Madison Square Garden.

Karl-Anthony Towns marked his playoff debut with 23 points and 11 rebounds, as did OG Anunoby, also scoring 23 points. The Knicks will host Game 2 on Monday.

The Pistons had a solid start, holding a 98-90 lead late in the game, tantalizingly close to snapping a 14-game postseason losing streak. However, the Knicks’ late surge proved overwhelming.

Brunson and Payne ignited the critical run, with Payne’s three-point play marking the beginning of a scoring spree that culminated with Josh Hart adding the last two scores to elevate the Knicks’ advantage.

On the opposing side, Tobias Harris scored 25 points, but struggled in the second half, managing only three points. Cade Cunningham had a notable game with 21 points and 12 assists, but faced challenges shooting efficiently.

The Knicks’ performance showcased their determination, overcoming early-game adversity and seizing control in the final moments.
