Celtics Triumph Over Magic Despite Tatum's Scary Fall in Game 1

The Boston Celtics secured a commanding win against the Orlando Magic in their playoff opener, though Jayson Tatum faced a concerning injury during the game.

In Game 1 of their playoff series, the Boston Celtics defeated the Orlando Magic 103-86. Derrick White starred with 30 points, while Jayson Tatum contributed 17 points before enduring a frightening fall. Despite this, he managed to continue playing. Payton Pritchard added 19 points off the bench, while Jaylen Brown made a notable return with 16 points after missing the end of the regular season due to a knee injury.

During the game, Tatum was hit hard by Kentavious Caldwell-Pope during a dunk attempt, causing him to land awkwardly on his side. After a brief pause to assess his wellbeing, Tatum remained in the game despite missing free throws awarded after the foul was deemed flagrant.

Paolo Banchero was a standout for the Magic, scoring 36 points and collecting 11 rebounds, while Franz Wagner also performed well with 23 points. The Magic led at half-time but struggled in the third quarter, committing six turnovers and allowing the Celtics to pull ahead.

The Celtics will host Game 2 on Wednesday night, looking to capitalize on their first-round momentum.
