Serie A Matches Canceled Following the Passing of Pope Francis

The Serie A soccer matches were postponed after the death of Pope Francis, a passionate supporter of the sport.

The Italian soccer league has decided to suspend its matches planned for Monday in response to the passing of Pope Francis. At the age of 88, Francis was an ardent fan of soccer.

The matches that were to take place on Monday, which is a national holiday in Italy, included:

  • Torino vs. Udinese
  • Cagliari vs. Fiorentina
  • Genoa vs. Lazio
  • Parma vs. Juventus

Details regarding the rescheduling of these games have yet to be announced.
