Anthony Edwards Penalized $50,000 for Inappropriate Exchange with a Fan
NBA player Anthony Edwards has received a hefty fine for using inappropriate language towards a fan during a game.
The NBA has imposed a fine of $50,000 on star guard Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves for utilizing offensive language and performing an obscene gesture towards a fan, as announced by the league on Tuesday.
The entire exchange between Edwards and the fan was captured on video. The incident began with Edwards defending teammate Rudy Gobert, a four-time Defensive Player of the Year, against a fan who was heckling them while both players were at the scorer’s table. However, the situation escalated when Edwards stated, “my d–k bigger than yours.”
Edwards has now accumulated a total of $235,000 in fines this season, making it the highest in the league. He earned $42.1 million for the current 2024-25 season.
The Timberwolves are set to face the Lakers in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series on Tuesday, leading the series 1-0 after a comfortable victory over Los Angeles last Saturday.
