Celtics Extend Lead in Playoffs as Porzingis Comes Back from Injury
The Boston Celtics take a significant 2-0 series lead against the Orlando Magic, despite some injuries during the match, particularly to Kristaps Porzingis.
The Boston Celtics secured a decisive 2-0 advantage in their playoff series against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday. However, the victory wasn’t without challenges; star player Kristaps Porzingis incurred a noticeable gash on his forehead during the game.
Porzingis had to briefly leave the match after receiving an elbow from Goga Bitadze from Orlando while both were vying for a rebound late in the third quarter. After the incident, a video review led to Bitadze being penalized with a flagrant foul.
Upon returning to the court, Porzingis was greeted with enthusiastic applause, his forehead wrapped in a bandage and blood visible on his head. He managed to score one free throw before departing once more.
The score at the end of the third quarter stood at 81-71 in favor of Boston. After cleaning up, Porzingis rejoined the game with just over seven minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.
