After falling out of the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders is eagerly awaiting news about his NFL future tonight. Compounding his disappointment, another quarterback, Jaxson Dart, was picked at No. 25 by the New York Giants.
Sanders may still have against him as ESPN’s Adam Schefter indicated he wouldn’t be shocked if Tyler Shough is picked ahead of Sanders. Schefter noted that there are teams dubious about drafting Sanders.

Despite Shough often being praised privately, his age and past injuries may not favor him in the draft. At nearly 26 by September, he previously shared a recruiting class with Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields and faced injuries during his college tenure.
As the Cleveland Browns are slated to start the second round at pick No. 33, they seem ready to pass on Sanders again. A potential surprise could arise if Shough indeed gets taken prior to Sanders, showcasing the unpredictable nature of the draft.
