Shedeur Sanders may see himself as the top quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft class, yet NFL teams have shown a different perspective. After remaining undrafted in the first round, he missed out in Round 2 as well, with Louisville’s Tyler Shough being chosen instead. The downward spiral continued when he again went unpicked in Round 3.

Jalen Milroe was the fourth quarterback selected when the Seattle Seahawks drafted him at pick No. 92 overall, followed shortly by the Cleveland Browns, who chose Dillon Gabriel, passing on Sanders for the fourth time.

Reports indicated that interest in Sanders was tepid as he entered Day 2 of the draft, leading to skepticism since several teams in need of quarterbacks, including the Steelers, opted for other positions.

Despite doubts about his athletic ability, Sanders led the Big 12 with impressive passing yards, touchdowns, and completion percentages. This was unexpected against a backdrop of diminishing expectations during the draft.
