Cavaliers Deliver Miami's Worst Playoff Loss by 37 Points
Cleveland Cavaliers achieved a significant playoff victory over the Miami Heat, marking Miami's most substantial postseason defeat.
Cleveland Cavaliers handed the Miami Heat a staggering 37-point defeat during a playoff game, which is now recorded as Miami’s worst postseason loss in history.
Despite Donovan Mitchell’s off night and Darius Garland sidelined due to an injury, the Cavaliers secured a 124-87 win, taking a commanding 3-0 lead in their first-round series in the Eastern Conference.
Jarrett Allen was a standout, scoring 22 points, while De’Andre Hunter contributed 21 points. The Cavaliers dominated the boards with 46 rebounds compared to Miami’s 29, and outscored the Heat 60-30 in the paint.
“Our guys knew that was the key, rebounding and winning the rebounding battle,” said Cavaliers coach Kenny Atkinson. “We really executed defensively.”
Evan Mobley scored 19 points, and Max Strus added 18. Ty Jerome had a notable performance with 13 points and 11 assists.
In contrast, Bam Adebayo led the Miami efforts with 22 points, while Davion Mitchell netted 16 points. Tyler Herro expressed his frustration, stating, “It’s embarrassing. We’re not going out 4-0.”
Miami now faces the challenge of overcoming a 3-0 series deficit, a feat no NBA team has accomplished in playoff history.
