The Texas Rangers continue to struggle, and their latest loss to the San Francisco Giants on Sunday could be their lowest point of the season.
Heliot Ramos delivered a walk-off home run, described as the “Little League-iest of Little League home runs,” during the Giants’ 3-2 victory over the Rangers at Oracle Park. The play caused a stir when Ramos’s hit only traveled two feet before hitting the ground, yet he managed to circle the bases.
“I blacked out for a minute and then saw the guys waving and waving, and I just went,” said Ramos after the game. Translation: Ramos commented on the chaotic moment following his unusual hit.
According to Statcast, the ball left his bat at 58.7 mph, which has fans buzzing about the oddity of his walk-off.
This victory allowed the Giants to improve to an NL West-leading 19-10, while the Rangers fell to 15-13, marking their fourth loss in five games.
