Vitinha Refutes Claims of Midfield Weakness Against Arsenal Ahead of Champions League Clash

PSG's Vitinha defends his team's midfield strength, emphasizing past successes against formidable Premier League teams.

Paris Saint-Germain’s Vitinha has responded to suggestions that he and his teammates lack the physicality to compete with Arsenal. He insists that their success against Premier League teams this season in the UEFA Champions League demonstrates their capability to perform under pressure.

Vitinha highlighted PSG’s strong midfield, which includes him, Fabian Ruiz, and Joao Neves, as a significant factor in their progress to the Champions League semifinals, having already defeated clubs like Manchester City and Liverpool. While they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal earlier this season at the Emirates, Vitinha is confident in their abilities.

“I don’t think there is an issue at all in our midfield. We won against Liverpool, you claimed it would be tough for us then, and we succeeded. Against Aston Villa, it was different, but we reckon we’re improving and every match poses its own challenges.”

He emphasized the importance of maintaining confidence and ambition as PSG prepares for their crucial match against Arsenal, where the outcome could determine their place in the Champions League final after a long wait since they last lifted the trophy.
