Dominique Malonga Invites LeBron James to Witness Her WNBA Dunk Debut: 'He is My Idol'

Dominique Malonga, the second overall pick in the WNBA Draft and a dunking sensation from France, expresses her wish for LeBron James to be present for her first dunk in the league.

Dominique Malonga, the No. 2 overall pick in the WNBA Draft, has gained a reputation for her dunking ability while playing in France. As she prepares to bring this skill to the WNBA with the Seattle Storm, she hopes to have LeBron James present when she accomplishes her first dunk in the league.

“He is my idol, since I was a little kid,” Malonga stated during her interview with We Need to Talk. “But I mean, it’s LeBron James, there is no need to describe it.”

At just 19 years old, Malonga turned pro at the young age of 15, making her three years younger than James when he began his NBA career in 2003. The 6-foot-6 player has drawn comparisons to Victor Wembanyama, another French talent who recently entered the NBA.

Malonga’s dunking skills became a hot topic earlier this month when she was featured in a viral video shared by Rickea Jackson of the Los Angeles Sparks, who humorously expressed her hope not to be dunked on.

With the Storm’s preseason game approaching, Malonga’s much-awaited debut and potential first dunk have fans eagerly anticipating her performance.
