Bronny James Reflects on Unique Experience Playing with His Father, LeBron

Bronny James shares insights on playing alongside his father, NBA superstar LeBron James, and expresses a desire for more seasons together.

As Bronny James exited the Los Angeles Lakers’ locker room after their playoff elimination, he smiled when asked about playing alongside his father, NBA legend LeBron James. During this season, Bronny transitioned from a child watching games in the sidelines to sharing the court with one of the game’s greatest players.

Bronny and LeBron made history as the first father-son duo in the NBA. “It’s a blessing,” Bronny stated to FOX Sports. “Being able to learn from him, both as a player and as a dad, is a different type of relationship that many don’t experience. I look forward to learning more from him, no matter the situation going forward.”

As LeBron considers whether to exercise a contract option valued at $52.6 million, Bronny emphasizes his wish for his father to keep playing. He remarked, “Yeah, for sure. It’s always a pleasure being around him, especially as he continues to take care of his body and prepare for the game.”

The bond formed during this season was both rewarding and challenging. Following the Lakers’ elimination from the playoffs by the Minnesota Timberwolves, LeBron was asked where playing alongside Bronny ranked among his accomplishments. “Number one, for sure,” he replied. “Playing alongside my son has been one of the most rewarding journeys I’ve experienced.”

Bronny faced tremendous pressure, especially after suffering a cardiac arrest last year during practice. Nevertheless, he rebounded to play well for the Lakers, despite scrutiny regarding his placement in the draft. “There was a lot of pressure on me,” Bronny shared. “It affected me a bit, but I kept my focus on improving.”

In a standout moment, Bronny tallied 17 points during a game against the Milwaukee Bucks, an achievement that earned him new respect.

Bronny actively sought to handle the pressures of expectations. “Working hard has kept me grounded,” he said, sharing his strategy of focusing on practice and supportive interactions with coaches.

LeBron appreciates seeing Bronny’s growth and dedication. “He’s not just a talented player, but a wonderful young man to be around,” LeBron declared. Bronny reflected on this unique experience, reiterating his goal of proving he belongs in the NBA.
