De'Aaron Fox Discusses Potential Trade Destinations as Deadline Approaches
De'Aaron Fox acknowledges he has a preferred landing spot if traded, while the Kings evaluate offers for the star guard.
The Sacramento Kings are reportedly considering trades for De’Aaron Fox. However, the star himself stated that he has not directly requested a trade.
“That’s their decision to make. I can’t tell them not to listen to offers or I can’t tell them to listen to offers,” Fox shared.
Fox’s reluctance to sign a long-term contract extension is causing the Kings to consider a move as the Feb. 6 trade deadline approaches. He rejected an extension over the summer, making his free agency in 2026 loom closer, leading to speculation about his future with the team.
Reportedly, Fox’s preferred destination is the San Antonio Spurs, where he could team up with rising star Victor Wembanyama. While he has not confirmed his interest in the Spurs, he acknowledged having a preferred destination if a trade were to occur.
“For sure, I think everybody has a preferred destination. I think it’s natural.”
Yet, as trade scenarios unfold, other teams could still make a compelling argument to acquire him.
