Inter Milan has reached the Champions League final for the second time in three years, defeating Barcelona 4-3 in extra time with a 7-6 aggregate score. The match, held at the San Siro, had plenty of highlights, especially the memorable goal from midfielder Davide Frattesi at the 99th minute.
After receiving a pass from Marcus Thuram, forward Mehdi Taremi selflessly set up Frattesi, who skillfully faked a shot before slotting it past Barcelona’s goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczesny. Despite it being only Frattesi’s seventh goal this season, it was significant; his previous goal came in the quarterfinal clash against Bayern Munich, also crucial in securing the win.
“I don’t know, maybe I was thinking that if I don’t score, I’m f—ed,” Frattesi remarked post-match, reflecting on his composure in high-pressure situations.
As Inter prepares for the final on May 31, they also have three Serie A matches left to pursue the Scudetto, with Frattesi’s performance indicative of the team’s potential.
